It is easy to talk a good game about faith. This week Pastor Adam Biro continues our journey through faith and turns to the book of James, one of the most practical, straight-between-the-eyes books in all of Scripture. The message James brings is bracing and freeing all at once: a faith that never shows up in how we actually live is not really faith at all. Pastor Adam carefully shows how Paul and James are not at odds. We are saved by faith in Jesus alone, and yet genuine faith always produces evidence, working itself out through our hands, our feet, and the way we love the people around us. Drawing on Abraham, Rahab, and the royal law of loving our neighbor, he reminds us that stopping the bad things is only a start, and that we are called to actively do good. This is a challenging and hope-filled call to stop settling for correct theology and step into a living, active faith. Come and be stirred with us.
